While the first teaser showed the band recording with acoustic guitars and brush drumsticks, this new update features some more traditional Disturbed sounds, including Dan Donegan shredding electric guitar and David Draiman wailing into a microphone.
Draiman also seemed to drop a hint about what kind of what the new music will be about.
“We have this idea of disconnect, of how technology’s consumed us,” he tells producer Kevin Churko. “People are stuck with their faces in their phones, and not enjoying the real world.” Sounds like Disturbed and A Perfect Circle are on the same wavelength.
Disturbed’s most recent studio effort was their 2015 comeback album Immortalized, which spawned their Grammy-nominated cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “The Sound of Silence.”
