Yep, you read that title correctly. Falling in Reverse have covered the Coolio classic ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ for ‘Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2.’ The new CD contains some pretty impressive covers of 90s classics, but Falling in Reverse’s contribution to the album has garnered a very polarizing response.

The ‘Punk Goes…’ series has been a musical institution since ‘Punk Goes Metal’ was released in 2000. Perhaps the most celebrated edition is ‘Punk Goes Pop,’ which hit shelves in 2002, featuring covers by Thrice, Rufio, Stretch Arm Strong, Yellowcard and many others.

Although ‘Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2′ doesn’t feature any punk acts, the franchise continues with some truly interesting re-imaginations of popular ’90s hits. Asking Alexandria tried out Nine Inch Nails‘ ‘Closer,’ Motionless in White gave their take on Rammstein‘s ‘Du Hast’ and the Color Morale took on Foo Fighters‘ ‘Everlong’ in just a few of 12 total covers.

Falling in Reverse vocalist Ronnie Radke has dabbled with rap in the past with mixed results, and ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ is no exception. Check out the Coolio cover in the player above and check out the entire ‘Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2′ album stream via the Fearless Records YouTube channel.
