KISS announces Las Vegas residency

KISS has just announced a Las Vegas residency! There are few bands that capture the spirit of Las Vegas like KISS, and the legendary group will invade the The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for nine shows beginning Nov. 5.

Bands such as Guns N’ Roses and Motley Crue have institutionalized The Joint at Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino residency as a new tradition amongst legendary acts. The upcoming ‘KISS Rocks Vegas’ residency may be the biggest one yet, with tickets starting at only $49.50. The Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino actually spent more than a year trying to book KISS for an exclusive residency at the hotel’s ‘Joint’ venue, finally locking in the face-painted legends from Nov. 5-23.

“Whatever you’re used to with Kiss, this will pump it up that much more,” singer-guitarist Paul Stanley tells USA Today. “If Kiss is on steroids, this is a double dose.”

Stanley adds, “Usually, going into a smaller venue means eliminating things. The great thing about going into The Joint, it gives us the opportunity to add. Much in the same way as a Broadway show, when you have a permanent installation, you’re not breaking down every night to travel. So we can do things we wouldn’t normally do.”

KISS will unleash their insane “spider stage” configuration in Vegas, which is currently on the road with KISS’ co-headlining tour with Def Leppard. However, Vegas will bring an added bonus. “Here, we’re in the enviable position of being able to do a KISS show that we haven’t been able to do,” says Stanley. “We will pack 10 pounds of gunpowder into a 5-pound bag. Anybody who sees the band sees four guys reveling in the smoke and fire. Every time we hit the stage, it’s a victory lap. It’s a race that’s never over, but it’s a race that we continue to win.”
