The future of metal is bright, with the teen trio Unlocking the Truth set to take the music world by storm. The band recently made news signing what could be a potential $1.7 million album deal with Sony. Being youngsters, they needed the court’s approval first before signing the contract, but that hurdle has now been crossed.
The latest good news for the band is that Artery Recordings have gotten involved, lending their marketing and promotional efforts to aid in the release of the band’s first album as part of the Sony Music / Cherry Party release.
The group is currently in the studio recording their new album, but they’ll get a break from laying down material to play a few key shows in major markets. Fans can look for the trio rocking Los Angeles’ Troubadour on Sept. 13, New York City’s The Studio at Webster Hall on Sept. 24 and Philadelphia’s First Unitarian Church on Sept. 26.
Those shows follow recently announced gigs at the Afro Punk stage in Brooklyn on Aug. 25, at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on Sept. 14 and two dates opening for Lacuna Coil in Lancaster, Pa., and Silver Spring, Md., on Oct. 7 and 8, respectively. They’re also playing a trio of dates Sept. 18-20 with Living Colour in Toronto, Ferndale, Mich., and Chicago.
The trio first began notice playing on the streets of Times Square and Washington Square Park in New York City before they even hit the age of 13. The band turned heads at Coachella earlier this year, becoming the youngest act to ever play the event. And they’ve also rocked the Vans Warped Tour and Heavy Montreal this summer.
