107/92.7 KTRX/AM 1240 KVSO- in Ardmore, OK is searching
for a FULL-TIME NEWS DIRECTOR. You should have a
minimum 1 year of journalism experience in Radio, TV,
Newspaper or other medium.
Our news director will
write, produce, voice, record and update station branded
newscasts and sportscasts for the morning shows, midday
news updates, afternoon newscasts, update website
news/sports content at least three times daily, dub
morning weather audio, update telephone-based station
weather reports and be on call to research and report
breaking news stories and severe weather.
You should relate to and
understand the differences between the Country, Classic
Rock and Oldies listener, be able to adapt each
newscast/sportscast and website content to those unique
audiences and successfully interact with other on air
talent about pop culture and be open to share aspects of
your personal life. You should understand equal time
obligations, political advertising guidelines and other
FCC rules and policies. The SORC’s News Director will
attend local governmental and organizational meetings,
fundraisers and special events, schedule and conduct
interviews, research story background information and
facts and record and edit appropriate audio clips for on
air use.
Applicants should be
familiar with Cool Edit Pro, Scott Studios, other
digital/analog recording and playback devices,
computers, Microsoft FrontPage, FTP, the internet and
other technology. Some sports and other duties may also
be assigned.

The Southern Oklahoma Radio Center in
Ardmore, OK is currently searching for ON AIR TALENT for
future FULL-TIME & PART-TIME openings for all dayparts.
Our four station cluster- 95.7 KKAJ-FM (Country), 92.7
KTRX-FM (Classic Rock), GTO 107 (Oldies) and AM 1240
KVSO- is located between Dallas/Ft.Worth and Oklahoma
City on the I-35 corridor.
We’re looking for people who are ready to WORK at
promoting our station brands both on the air and out in
the community. We offer paid broadcasts and appearances
but these positions will also require extensive
community involvement without additional pay…sometimes
at night, on the weekends and even some holidays.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or you’re currently doing
nights or weekend work and want a chance to prove
yourself- this is the kind of company you want! I’ve
got some time to pick the right people- so I want to
know what your show will REALLY sound like. MAIL me

FULL-TIME ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE POSITIONS

Southern Oklahoma Radio Center- KKAJ/KTRX/KYNZ/KVSO- in Ardmore, OK
currently have a full-time Account Executive Position available.
Our Account Executives are responsible for:
-
Selling advertising to new advertisers.
-
Maintaining and up selling current advertisers in a
planned and systematic manner.
-
Detailed planning of your daily schedule.
-
Setting weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals with
supervisors.
-
Planning, creating, and executing effective
face-to-face presentations.
-
Maintaining and updating computer and printed
presentations and materials.
-
Communicating with customers and the public in a
professional and effective manner.
-
Improving your knowledge of this industry and your
customer’s business through reading and data gathering calls and
research.
-
Collection of past-due accounts.
-
Generating marketing ideas to present to
advertisers.
-
Collaborating with our copywriters and production
staff to create effective advertising.
-
Working a minimum of 45 hours per week.
-
Participating in continuing education, seminars, and
other training.
-
Handling 50 to 60 accounts effectively on your own.
-
Keeping accurate, detailed, and organized records.
-
Filing required paperwork accurately and in a
timely manner.
-
Making a minimum of 20 face-to-face presentations
and appointments each week.
-
Using telephone, fax, email, internet, computers,
and other technology effectively.
-
Setting up firm appointments with new and existing
customers using the telephone.
Previous Business to Business sales experience
REQUIRED. Previous advertising experience a plus, but not required.
