March 4: Stratford High School Blood Drive

Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) and Stratford High School have teamed up to save the lives of those in local hospitals. A blood drive will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those who are healthy and 16 years* or older can typically give blood.

All blood donors will also receive a “FEEL BOLD” T-shirt, free health screenings and Donor Rewards Points.

“While everyone anticipates Spring Break, it poses a challenge for our blood center,” said John Armitage, M.D., OBI president and CEO. “We see far fewer donors due to vacations and other activities. However, patients in our local hospitals still need our support. Donating at this blood drive can help alleviate our concerns during March.”

Blood donors can choose to forgo the T-shirt. Then, funds designated for this item will be donated to Global Blood Fund, a nonprofit that supports struggling blood centers abroad.

Providing every drop of blood needed by patients in 140 medical facilities across the state, Oklahoma Blood Institute is the ninth largest, non-profit blood center in America. For more information or to make an appointment, call 877-340-8777 or visit obi.org.
