Aug. 1: JD McPherson performing at Goddard Center

Oklahoma singer-songwriter JD McPherson and his band will perform at the Goddard Center on August 1st at 7:30 p.m. Goddard Center members can reserve their tickets this week before the box office opens to the public on July 22. This is one performance you don't want to miss! McPherson’s music is a throwback to the American 1950’s with a retro sound rooted in early rock & roll including obvious influences like Little Richard and Fats Domino.

McPherson grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and later attended the University of Tulsa where he studied visual arts and earned his M.F.A. He worked as an art teacher before pursuing his passion for music full time. In 2012, Rolling Stone Magazine labeled JD McPherson an “Artist to Watch.” Click the You Tube link below to view their debut album title song, "Signs and Signifiers."

Tickets for this performance are free for current members or $20 for adults and $10 for students who are not members. For more information or to make a reservation, call (580) 226-0909 or visit our website at goddardcenter.org. An reception will be held in the Galleries prior to the performance from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
